The Control4 App and an active 4Sight subscription enables total control of your smart home right from your mobile device. Adjust thermostats, raise the shades, activate door locks, check-in on cameras, and so much more. Very Disappointed with Brother I have owned a number of Brother printers and all-in-ones. My last two have been all-in-ones color laser printers so they are not cheap. I use Macs and up until Catalina - Brother has kept up with the software tools. I very unhappy with Brother for not releasing a 64 bit version of Control Center for Catalina.

1. Visit this Brother site.
2. Choose 'USA'
3. Choose your model number (MFC-8660DN)
4. Choose 'United States'
5. Choose 'Drivers' then 'Mac OS X (10.5)' then 'English'
6. Then choose the 'Scanner Driver' and download it, then install.
7. You'll have to restart your computer and a dialogue will come up. You can have the printer associated by name or IP address. I chose IP address. Then I added a name of my computer so that you can use the printer interface to send things to a particular computer.

Brother has recommended that customers use iPrint&Scan application or Image Capture. But you might also want to use VueScan Scanner Software. But you might also want to use VueScan Scanner Software. VueScan works on over 6000 scanners, even scanners that are no longer supported by their scanner vendor, so you can use VueScan with any scanner. Seems like I've seen something like that before. Seems like the fix was to install the DotNetFramework, or the VCRuntime manually from the brother install folder. Didn't work, but I will have to try unninstalling Framework 4.7 and installing the one in the install folder.

Update - A few weeks later I started having trouble accessing the scanning capabilities from the Mac. I spoke with Brother Support and they took me thru the following re-installation steps, which solved the problem.

1. Delete the 'Users/YOUR_USER_NAME/Library/Preferences/Brother' folder.
2. Delete the 'Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources/Brother TWAIN.ds' file.
3. Delete the 'Library/Printers/Brother/Utilities/ControlCenter' and 'Library/Printers/Brother/Utilities/DeviceSelector' folders.
4. Restart computer.
5. Empty your trash.
6. Re-install the Control Center following the steps above.
