Al-Afasy is a Kuwaiti international-renowned Qari (reciter) and the Imam of Masjid Al-Kabir in Kuwait City. He studied the Quran in the College of the Holy Quran at the Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
He memorized the Quran in two years from 1992 to 1994. He is recognized for his unique style of recitation.
Al-Afasy has impressed a number of great reciters of the Quran. He was awarded the Best Quran Reciter in the 2012 About.com Reader’s Choice Awards.
