Dell 1908fpt Monitor Drivers For Mac

I've got a Dell P2217 monitor and I'm trying to connect a Macbook to it from the laptop's HDMI output to the monitor's HDMI input. I've tried it on two different Macbooks, but the monitor says it's not receiving a signal. Think big by ben carson pdf free download. I've tried holding the power button on the monitor for 10+ sec with everything unplugged and resetting the macbook settings (command-option P R). I haven't tried another HDMI cable, so that could be the issue, but are these even compatible to begin with?
